It is a rare thing to have good friends. It is an even rarer thing to have good friends that fuel your passion for ideas, or foster within you an intellectual curiosity that, when added to your own devices, propel you above and beyond what you would normally fashion on your own. The downside to having moved here is that I am currently 0 for 2 in these respects. Those friends who do inspire me to think (you know who you are) are sequestered in far off states. You’d think that there are enough smart people living here that I’d eventually bump into one of them. I hate to say it, but I am becoming intellectually starved out here…
