Surreal Living in Silicon Valley

Tantek Çelic was the development lead for the Tasman rendering engine used in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 5 for the Macintosh. Besides his impressive credentials for building one of the most compliant browsers currently on the planet, he’s mostly famous for discovering the box model hack, which allows you to perform CSS parser trickery on IE 5+ browsers which don’t conform to the CSS correct box model. Apparently he’s blogging now, lives in Mountain View, and I happen to jog by his place of employment every other day. Let me say it again if I haven’t said it before. As a technologist from the Midwest, it is a surreal experience living here.
