Lufthansa has started a three-month wireless broadband trial on some of their flights which will allow passengers to connect to the Internet at speeds close to 3mb/s for download and 128k/s for upload from 35,000 feet in the air. Pretty incredible stuff.
Jen told me this story aired on NPR and they had interviewed various passengers who were using the technology. One journalist said he liked it and had already received return messages from people he emailed earlier. Another person wasn’t so positive about it because that meant he’d actually have to start working on the plane now.
