Who’d have thought you could get excited over a vacuum cleaner? We bought a Dyson over the weekend and I am utterly impressed with its utility, usability and industrial design. It sucks tremendously! The placement of things on the machine is intuitive, the tools are easy to get to, and it is very quiet for being a vacuum cleaner. The Dyson is the design equivalent of Apple’s IMac in the prosaic household appliance industry. Jebus, this is one sexy vacuum cleaner. Beacoup bucks, but worth every penny. Highly recommended.
Interestingly, we bought it at the Sears in Cupertino, which despite being the home of Apple is a nauseatingly boring town, at least in my limited experience. But then again, you could say that about Mountain View. Heh.
