Fountains Of Wayne Brady

It’s great to see Fountains of Wayne getting their due in the Old Grey Lady. I’ve admired their music and their rock ‘tude for a long while now, but never really knew much about them. Nostalgic Chicago Music Scene memory: One of the last good shows I remember seeing at the Metro was in 1996 during the record release party for the bands who signed onto James Iha’s, of Smashing Pumpkins, then newly formed Scratchie Records label. One of those bands was Fountains of Wayne. Afterwards when I was completely loaded, I and a couple of friends got invited to the aftershow party where we briefly met Iha and the Waynes. Good times.
