“Fly A Kite OSX”:http://osx.portraitofakite.com/index.php reduces the time and removes the tedium out of transforming your Windows XP GUI to look like the OSX machine you likely prefer to use at home. The developers who created the _Fly A Kite_ install did a fantastic job with this utility, aggregating the best OSX mods that are floating around in various places within the theming community and putting it them all in one easy to access place.
Almost every modification you’d probably want is included: visual styles, icons, wallpapers, cursors, sounds, etc. They even make it easy to modify the icons in the control panels, DLLs and EXE files to make the transformation even more seamless. If you know how to hack these files manually, you will appreciate their install process even more.
I would add a couple of other utilities to the list just so people can accuse you of going completely over the top: yztoolbar and yzshadow add some visual punch to your windows. You’ll have to Google for these since I don’t think they are being developed anymore. Then there’s “AppRocket”:http://candylabs.com/approcket, which mimics the phenomenal “Quicksilver”:http://quicksilver.blacktree.com/ although it’s really not even close to doing Quicksilver (which is free, as opposed to AppRocket) justice.
By the way, even though I had no problems using Fly A Kite, you can still seriously fuck up your computer using this utility, with nary a chance of getting it back to its original condition. Just so you know.
