Since this Illinois Alumnus ('91) was actually there for the crushing disappointment when the basketball team lost to Michigan in the 1989 Final Four, I've decided to don my fading _Illini Naked Water Polo Team_ t-shirt, paint my face a bright (but not gauche) orange, think good thoughts and watch a time-shifted version of the game on Tivo.
Ok, I'll actually just watch the time-shifted game on Tivo, but the spirit will be genuine. Go Illini!
Update: Ah. Yet another generation grapples with that familiar bitter taste. Disappointment is good for the soul kids. Really.
Good on the team for having a great season though. (What would any basketball related post be without its share of sports clichés?)
