I ran the this 5k race at Crissy Field in San Francisco a couple of days ago. It was absolutely beautiful weather that day: the sun was slowly going down over the outline of the Golden Gate bridge, there was a great looking crowd and it was just really fun to be there.
Unfortunately, I ended up getting to the race a little later than I was expecting. I was beginning to stretch when they signaled the start of the race, so I quickly hopped up to the 10-minute starting line and pushed my way in with the rest of the crowd. I ended finishing in 31 minutes, so I was off my goal of finishing under 30 by a little bit (I usually run for distance and not speed, so believe me, this was good time for me). Afterwards we had a beer (excellent after a run I know) at the booth and grabbed some sushi at “Kiki’s”:http://sanfrancisco.citysearch.com/profile/41271047.
A photographer was kind enough to take some bad shots of me in the middle of the race, just as my lungs were beginning to burst. I’m the one with the running shoes. On to the “Palo Alto Moonlight run”:http://www.paloaltoonline.com/moonlight_run/index-registration.shtml!
